Notebook 32 is on the move

September 22, 2008

We have an update on Notebook 32! This is the duct tape notebook, and it is slowly but surely moving around Europe.

Hello there!
I got Notebook 32 from Hanneke, a girlfriend. Yes, number 32, It’s on the move!
Slowly… but moving…
I’m sending it to a friend: Jesse… He is a musician and graphic artist in Utrecht… I hope he’ll put some good stuff in it! Me myself, I’m a photographer… I have put some pictures in of my Global Warming series.
Have fun watching!

All the best…
Greetings from Alex, Utrecht – Holland

Pictures of Notebook 32

September 2, 2008

From Marieke:

There just had to be taken a picture of that wonderful front page with
all the duct tape!
Took a picture of “my” first page as well. I’m very curious how nr
32′s trip will be from now on.

Notebook 32 passed on…

August 21, 2008
Hi!
Notebook 32 is on the move again. My sister Marieke mailed it to me from Nijmegen the Netherlands to Utrecht the Netherlands. Tonight I passed it on to a creative friend of mine who will undoubtedly create soms artistic masterpiece on the next blank page.
Good luck on the project, I think it’s great!

Marieke also took some photos of the notebook before it was passed on. We will get those photos up at the next update.

Notebook 32 begins in Ireland

August 16, 2008

Team 99 Notebooks spent 2 days in Belfast, Ireland at the end of their Europe trip to see The Flaming Lips at the Belsonic Festival. We had a great time and spent two nights in Arnie’s Backpackers, a great independent hostel near the center of Belfast. As we were leaving on the last day we left Notebook 32 in the hostel and got an email on August 14 letting us know that it was found:

Hi, just letting you know that notebook 32 has started its journey.
Found it in the hostel in Belfast on the day before I was going home,
so it is now here with me in Nijmegen, the Netherlands and I will pass
it on (or leave it behind in some pub) soon!

Love the idea, I hope to come across another notebook some day, as I
would really like to read one that is almost full as opposed to the
totally blank one that I have here now. I’m very curious what people
will write in these things and will keep up with the webpage
regularly.

Greetings!
Marieke

We are really glad this one was found and sent off, because it is covered in duct tape. Originally we used a little tape on it because the binding was starting to come loose, but after a few pieces we just started adding more and more tape to it until the front and back covers were totally covered in silver duct tape. All of the covers before this notebook were just the simple composition notebook marble design in various colors, but after playing around with #32, we think that it will be more fun if we make some fun covers for some of the notebooks. So if anyone has any good ideas for what to put or draw on a cover, send us an email and if we like the idea we will mail you a notebook.
