Got a Notebook #6 update:
“took it to a party last night – was a huge hit. two full pages dedicated to illustrations of farm animals.”
I’m truly loving how this is turning out even in these early stages. I can’t wait to hear the reactions people will have when someone hands them some random notebook and they start reading it and get to see farm animals. This brings up a fun point too, which I was thinking about yesterday in Ocean Beach. It would be really fun to go to a public place (or a place like a party) and just try to get as many people to write in a notebook in one day. Would it be possible to fill an entire 100 page notebook in 24 hours? Where would it have to be? Somewhere crowded. The beach? That doesn’t seem like a place people would want to do a lot of writing. Maybe a large public event, like the Ocean Beach Farmer’s Market…or maybe a music festival? The 99 Notebooks crew will be traveling to Europe soon, and will have a chance to go to a festival in Ireland. Maybe we will try to fill an entire notebook that day. If anyone has an idea for a good place to fill a notebook, send us an email!

Got a message from John in the inbox today:
“#6 arrived safe and sound in SF and is filling up quickly. Will pass it off in NYC next week.”
This is exciting because it will probably be the first time a notebook travels such a long distance. Should be interesting to see where it ends up.

The first set of notebooks have been sent off into the world! The first 7 were mailed or handed out in the last few days, so we should start seeing more frequent updates on this site soon. Here are the locations of the first 7 notebooks:
1: Mailed to Santa Clara, CA

3: Mailed to San Francisco, CA
4: Given out in San Diego, CA
5: Mailed to Santa Cruz, CA
6: Mailed to San Francisco, CA
7: Mailed to Asheville, NC
As you can see, almost all of the notebooks are stating in California. If you live somewhere outside of California and want to help us out, send us an email and we will hook you up with a notebook!
If you are one of the first seven to get a notebook, thanks for helping me start this fun experiment. If you got one and don’t feel like writing in it, do me a favor and pass it on to someone else. It can be anyone too, it doesn’t have to be someone you know. You can even walk outside and give it to the first person you see. Or give it to a cop. Or a bum. Give it to your crazy neighbor. Go nuts!
